The Hindi remake of A.R Murugadoss Ghajini starring Aamir khan and Asin has became the first Hindi movie to gross Rs 200 crore at the box office worldwide. The film grossed over ‘Rs 162 crore in the domestic market and Rs 39 crore’ overseas, The Times of India reported.
The film was strong from Day One and experts say that it will cross the Rs-250-crore (gross) mark very easily. Ghajini was released with 1200 digital and analog prints across the country.According to the paper, the film has also reportedly made Rs 4 crore from gaming rights, Rs 21 crore for satellite rights and Rs 10 crore for home video and music rights.
If all goes well, Ghajini might just overtake Gadar – Ek Prem Katha as the highest domestic Bollywood earner. In the overseas market, it is currently placed second with Karan Johar’s Kabhie Alvida Na Kehna being number one.
New year 2009 have started well for Aamir Khan and Bollywood and hope it continues the rest of year also.
